Helford Passage Regatta’s support for Falmouth RNLI approaches £20,000
The Helford Passage Regatta has supported the charity for the last 12 years and a cheque for £3,000 was presented to Falmouth RNLI Coxswain Jonathon Blakeston by Regatta committee members Tina Walker and Ailsa Yates when they visited the lifeboat station recently.

Falmouth RNLI hosts ceremony to officially name new Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Robina Nixon Chard
Saturday 7 September saw the official naming ceremony and service of dedication of the new B class lifeboat B-916 Robina Nixon Chard at Falmouth RNLI Station.

Falmouth RNLI lifeboat volunteers assist single handed skipper and his gaff yawl
The 34 foot wooden vessel had anchored off St Mawes earlier in the day (Thursday 8 August) after a passage from France. Unfortunately later that evening, the gale force southerly on shore wind caused the gaffer to drag her anchor and she ended up against St Mawes Quay.

Falmouth RNLI welcomes its new Atlantic 85 lifeboat
Built at the RNLI’s Inshore Lifeboat Centre at East Cowes on the Isle of Wight, the new Atlantic 85 lifeboat will replace the station’s current Atlantic 75 lifeboat Eve Pank as it reaches the end of her operational life. Introduced into the fleet in 2005, the Atlantic 85 lifeboat is the third generation of B class lifeboat and gradually replacing the Atlantic 75’s on RNLI service.

Falmouth volunteer lifeboat crew invited local businesses to the lifeboat station for an evening to say thank you for their continued support shown to their employees’ involvement with the RNLI.

Town Mayor acknowledges London Marathon runner’s fundraising achievement for Falmouth RNLI
Falmouth Mayor Councillor Grenville Chappel presented a framed citation to Paul Wickes MBE, Chair of the RNLI South and West Cornwall Event Group during a reception held in the Mayor’s Chamber recently.

High Sheriff of Cornwall visits Falmouth Lifeboat Station
We welcomed Paul Young-Jamieson, High Sheriff of Cornwall and his wife Claire to Falmouth Lifeboat Station yesterday (Wednesday 6 March) as part of his wish to visit all the Cornwall lifeboat stations to thank the volunteer crews and present a cheque to each station before his term of offices ends on 24 March. The High Sheriff’s chosen charity during his term of office has been the RNLI and in particular the Cornwall lifeboats.

Golf Club members support Falmouth RNLI
Members of Killiow Golf Club’s Senior Section visited Falmouth Lifeboat Station last Tuesday (5 February) and before being given a guided tour of the lifeboats, donated a cheque for £720.

Sailing race raises money for Falmouth RNLI
Restronguet Sailing Club recently handed over a cheque for £80 to Falmouth RNLI Coxswain Jonathon Blakeston at Falmouth Lifeboat Station. The money was raised from club members taking part in the Club’s annual Christmas Pudding Race held in December.

Newly formed events group set to boost RNLI funds
The South West Cornwall Events Group has only been established for a matter of months but has already raised in excess of £3,000 for the charity. The new group is part of the RNLI’s commitment to create 200 new fundraising groups across the UK and Ireland by 2020 to complement the existing branch and guild structure.
