Falmouth’s inshore lifeboat Robina Nixon Chard launched on Sunday 28 June to reports of two swimmers requiring assistance at Porthbeor Beach on the Roseland.

Launching at 12.19pm, the crew made their way out of the harbour. One swimmer was located in a cove at the eastern end of the beach, being assisted and given initial first aid by a concerned member of the public who had launched to the swimmer’s aid on a paddleboard. The casualty was then transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat by the paddle boarder. The swimmer was checked over by a crewmember trained in casualty care, and although cold and tired from the weather conditions, were assessed to be in no immediate danger.1MTVnSMA NUMVqXAw

With the second swimmer onshore and having made their way to the cliff path above, the inshore lifeboat took the swimmer on to St Mawes, where the lifeboat was stood down and returned to the station.nxKI 2ZQ
