After successfully running The London Marathon last year, Team Betty have reunited for their new challenge, raising money Betty’s two favourite charities, the RNLI and the Children’s Hospice SW.

Fred Thomas (aka Betty Stogs), Paul Wickes MBE, Viv Bray and Simon Knowles are getting all geared up for the 10 mile endurance challenge, rowing a raft from Truro to Falmouth. Their raft has been built specifically to meet social distancing rules and will be supported by a safety boat.

They will set off on Sunday 18th October from Sunny Corner in Truro at 8am, tide and wind permitting they hope to finish at the slipway by the Maritime Museum in Falmouth around 1pm. Betty and the Team are really keen that people to support them but ask that they respect the current social distancing rules.

Dave Nicoll, RNLI Fundraising & Partnership Lead said “As a charity the RNLI relies on voluntary contributions but this year’s Covid-19 has had a massive impact on its ability to raise money, we therefore really appreciate the efforts of TEAM BETTY in raising funds to keep our rescue service going 24/7, so why not celebrate their efforts by donating on the JustGiving Page”
