Falmouth Inshore lifeboat launched at 04:11 following reports of a person in the water at Malpas on the Truro River. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were also tasked to assist. The Inshore Lifeboat made best speed up the River Fal arriving off Malpas at 04:27. They quickly found that the casualty had been recovered from the water by a member of the public.
Two lifeboat crew were placed ashore to provide assistance. Soon afterwards the Coastguard, Police and an Ambulance arrived on scene and the casualty was transferred into their care. At 04:38 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station where it was safely moored up alongside its pontoon at 05:21.
