At 20:40 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launch following reports of an inflatable close to the rocks at Pendennis Point with a person in the water. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 20:47 and arrived on scene off Pendennis Point at 20:51. The small inflatable with two persons on board was located underway off Pendennis Point heading back towards the docks. Having had an initial discussion with the casualties the decision was taken to escort the boat back into the Inner Harbour. The Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team which had been stood down were retasked to meet the casualties on their arrival ashore. The dinghy was escorted back to the private slipway at Packet Quays where the casualties were met by the Coastguard team. At 21:56 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 22:03 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 22:30.

Both the lifeboat crew and the coastguard team gave the casualties safety advise including highlighting the dangers of alcohol when boating.
