At 17:04 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of three people cut off by the tide at Maenporth Beach. The Falmouth and Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Teams were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 17:12 and was about to round Pendennis Point when at 16:19 the coastguard advised that the three casualties had made it ashore so the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station while the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team continued to Maenporth.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 17:30 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 17:45.

The three casualties had made their own way back to the beach, although a little wet, it was confirmed that they were safe and well. This was the second call out for the Inshore Lifeboat to people cut off by the tide at Maenporth during the bank holiday weekend, the previous incident on the Friday was cancelled when the casualty made it safely ashore just as the Inshore Lifeboat was about to be launched from her slipway.
