Ski Boat Wakey Wakey broken down

Inshore lifeboat (Launched 15:57 / Returned 17:20) – Nick Head (Helmsman), Claire Angove, Josh Beardmore


At 15:49 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 6m Ski Boat Wakey Wakey which had broken down in Falmouth Bay.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:57 and headed out into Falmouth Bay arriving on scene at 16:06. A line was passed to the boat and the tow back into Falmouth commenced. The boat was taken to the Falmouth Marina in the Penryn River where it was safely secured at 17:08, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 17:20 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 17:45.

The ski boat which had three people on board and had been in Falmouth Bay watching the yacht racing when it had suffered complete engine failure so had requested assistance.
