At 21:22 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a 999 call from a 6.5m Motorboat with two people on board which had broken down off Mylor in the Carrick Roads.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 21:30 and headed up the Carrick Roads locating the vessel between Mylor and the Carrick Buoy at 21:39. Once the boats anchor had been recovered at 21:43 it was taken in tow back to Loe Beach where it was safely placed on its trailer by 22:14, the Inshore Lifeboat then being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 22:33 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 23:02.

The Motorboat had suffered engine failure while out fishing in the Carrick Roads. The occupants had deployed the boats anchor and contacted the Coastguard for assistance using their mobile phone. Suitable safety advise was given to the casualties as they did not have any lifejackets or a VHF radio.
