At 05:46 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from the Ambulance service requesting the medical evacuation of the sole occupant of a yacht which was at anchor in the Percuil River.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 05:42 and headed up the Percuil River arriving on scene at 06:11. Two lifeboat crew trained in casualty care went on board the yacht to assess the casualty’s condition before the casualty was transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat. It was agreed with Ambulance control that the casualty would be taken back to Falmouth where they would arrange for an ambulance to meet them, so at 05:30 the Inshore Lifeboat started heading back down the river.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived back at its station at 06:54 and moored alongside the All Weather Lifeboat to allow the casualty to be transferred ashore and be taken to the boathouse to await the arrival of the Ambulance. The Ambulance arrived at 07:13 and the casualty was handed over to the paramedics.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 07:50 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 08:24.
