Inshore lifeboat: (Launched 15:38 / Returned 16:03) – Jamie Connolly (Helmsman), Tom Bird, Andy Edwards, Lloyd Barron

At 15:30 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team and Ambulance Paramedics with the evacuation of a casualty from Pennance Point.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:38 and having rounded Pendennis Point headed across Falmouth Bay arriving on scene at 15:48. Soon after arriving it was confirmed that the casualty had been transferred to Swanpool Beach by another vessel so at 15:50 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 16:03 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 16:20.

The casualty is believed to have been taking part in coasteering when they had injured themselves. Due to the considerable time the casualty had been in the water the paramedics were concerned that they were becoming hypothermic and given the remote location extraction by boat was the fastest option.
