Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat had just towed an open boat and its occupants into Mylor Harbour and was heading back out into the Carrick Roads at 19:36 when they became aware that the sailing dinghy which had been accompanying the earlier casualty was struggling to make headway against the moderate North westerly wind.
The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at the St Just Pool at 19:39 and found that the dinghy was having rigging issues, so it was taken in tow. The dinghy and its two occupants were towed to Mylor Harbour where it was safely secured at 19:57, the Inshore Lifeboat once again being released to return to its station.
As the Inshore Lifeboat was approaching Falmouth Harbour at 20:07 they became aware of a 3m rigid inflatable broken down between the Eastern Arm of the Docks and Trefusis Point and proceeded to assist.
