At 18:49 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the occupants of a 4m open boat broken down off Ski Beach who had entered the water to try and get ashore.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 18:57 and headed up the Carrick Roads. While on route the Inshore Lifeboat was advised that the three occupants had made it to the shore. The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:03 and having checked that everyone was uninjured the boat and its occupants were towed clear of the beach at 19:14 and were taken back to Mylor Harbour where they safely landed ashore at 19:33, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.
As the Inshore Lifeboat was heading back out into the Carrick Roads they became aware that the sailing dinghy that had been accompanying the first casualty was not making any headway so at 19:36 they diverted to assist the sailing dinghy.
