Children cut off by the tide

At 15:54 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist two children who were cut off by the tide on Castle Beach. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were also tasked to assist.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 16:01 and having rounded Pendennis Point arrived on scene off Castle Beach at 16:09. The two boys were located trapped below the sea wall on the west side of the beach. They were recovered to the Inshore Lifeboat and taken back to the beach where they were handed into the care of the Cliff Rescue Team, the Inshore Lifeboat being released at 16:18 to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 16:29 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 16:45.
The children had been playing on the beach below the sea wall and had not noticed the incoming tide.
