At 14:46 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from a 7m Motorboat with three people on board reporting it had broken down and was dragging its anchor off Loe Beach in the Carrick Roads.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 14:54 and headed up the Carrick Roads arriving on scene at 15:06. A tow line was passed to the vessel and once it had recovered its anchor it was towed to Restronguet Creek where it was safely placed on its mooring at 15:33, the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 15:53 where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 16:30.

The motorboats engine had failed due to an electrical issue. The Coastguard put out a VHF broadcast to request the assistance of any vessels in the area but with none available and the boats anchor dragging the Inshore Lifeboat was requested to launch to provide assistance.
