Medical Evacuation from Yacht

At 09:50 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to evacuate a person with an injured knee from a yacht anchored off Penarrow Point in the Carrick Roads. The Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked to assist.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from its slipway at 09:58 and headed up the Carrick Roads, arriving alongside the yacht off Penarrow Point at 10:04. Two casualty care trained lifeboat crew were placed on board the yacht to assess the casualty before they were transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat at 10:21. The casualty was taken to the pontoon at Mylor Harbour where with assistance from the Coastguard Rescue Team and their stretcher they were transferred to a waiting ambulance at 10:41, the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered on to its slipway at 10:55 where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 11:10.
The casualty had injured their knee a couple of days before but the injury had become worse overnight, so the Inshore Lifeboat was tasked to assist in the transfer of the casualty from the yacht to the shore so they could be taken to hospital for treatment.
