At 18:13 Falmouth Coastguard requested the launch of Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat following a 999 call from a speed boat which had broken down off Place Manor in the Percuil River with four persons and a dog on board.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 18:22 and arrived on scene at 18:31. A tow line was passed to the vessel and it was towed with its occupants to St Mawes Harbour where it was safely secured at 18:48, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 18:59 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 19:15.

While the boat itself was not in any immediate danger the Inshore Lifeboat was launched to assist as one of the people on board was suffering from a medical condition and there was concern over the potential delay in getting another vessel to assist.
