Inshore lifeboat (Launched 08:27 / Returned 08:55) – Sandy Procter (Helmsman), Jamie Connoly, Jamie Wakefield

At 08:27 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the search for a missing person in the Helford River. Police and Coastguard Cliff Rescue Teams were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 08:35 and having rounded Pendennis Point headed across the Falmouth Bay but at 08:46 as the Inshore Lifeboat was passing Rosemullion Head the coastguard confirmed that the missing person had been located ashore safe and well so all units were stood down.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 08:55 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 09:05.

The search had been initiated when a car had been found with dogs in it and the as the person involved had been last seen going afloat on the Helford River in his dinghy the previous night. Fortunately the person turned up safe and well.
