Inshore lifeboat (Launched 16:56 / Returned 18:12) – Claire Angove (Helmsman), Jamie Connoly, Josh Williams

At 16:49 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 6m Motor Boat Ysella which had suffered engine failure between Black Rock and the Lighthouse.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 16:56 and arrived on scene at 17:01. One lifeboat crewmember was placed on board the casualty to assist with the recovery of the anchor. A tow line was then passed to the vessel which was towed to its mooring off Loe Beach where it was safely secured at 17:58, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 18:12 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 18:25.

The Ysella which had two persons on board had suffered engine failure due to an electrical fault. The skipper had wisely dropped his anchor and requested assistance for which they were very grateful.
