Details:

At 12:34 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports from the Gyllyngvase Lifeguards and members of the public of an inflatable Kayak with two persons on board being blown towards St Anthony Lighthouse.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 12:48 arrived on scene locating the kayak off Pendennis Point at 12:55. The two occupants were rowing towards Pendennis Point and once they were approached Crab Quay at 13:00 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 13:05 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 13:15.

The two occupants of the inflatable kayak had launched the craft from Gyllyngvase Beach with the intention of rowing to Swanpool Beach. When they ended up being blown towards Pendennis Point they had managed to paddle into Crab Quay where they landed safely, presumably deciding to walk the 1.5 miles back to Gyllyngvase Beach.
