Inshore lifeboat (Launched 19:30 / Returned 19:48) – Claire Angove (Helmsman), Neil Capper, Adam West

At 19:26 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of a small inflatable dinghy with one person on board going around in circles off the Greenbank Quay in Falmouth Inner Harbour.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 19:30 and headed up the harbour but as it was arriving on scene at 19:35 they were advised that the situation had been resolved and the lifeboat could return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 19:48 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 19:55.

The occupant of the dinghy had been carrying out engine trials and was not in difficulties so on this occasion did not require our assistance. While on this turned out to be a false alarm, it is great to see the public alerting the coastguard to a potential risk as next time it could be a real emergency.
