At 22:12 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the police in a search for a missing person in the Greenbank area. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team was also tasked to assist in the search.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 22:24 and headed up the harbour arriving off the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club at 22:30. A search was commenced from the yacht club towards the Greenbank Quay and then up the Penryn River towards Coastlines Wharf. With nothing found the Inshore Lifeboat was then tasked to search back down the harbour towards the lifeboat station. When the Inshore Lifeboat reached Port Pendennis Marina at 23:10 with no further information available the lifeboat was released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 23:12 where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 23:30.
The missing person was eventually located ashore by Coastguard Rescue Officers and passed into the care of the Police.
