At 21:11 Falmouth Coastguard requested the launch of Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat following reports of a small dinghy with four people on board struggling between Pill Creek and Turnaware Bar in the River Fal.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 21:19 and headed up the Carrick Roads arriving on scene off Turnaware Bar at 21:25. The dinghy and its occupants were located safe and well on the beach at Turnaware Bar and it was confirmed that no further assistance was required so at 21:29 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 21:45 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 21:55.

The dinghy had been observed struggling to make any head way against the ebbing tide so with the poor visibility and failing light it was decide to launch the Inshore Lifeboat to investigate.
