Details:

At 14:56 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat following reports that a person had become stuck in a gully while trying to recover their dog at Trefusis Point. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:05 and arrived on scene off Trefusis Point at 15:11. The casualty and their dog were quickly located and it was soon confirmed that they make their own way along the rocks and then back up to the coastal path. Once they were safely back on the cliff path, they were met by the Coastguard so at 15:24 Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 15:35 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 15:55.

The first informant who had been accompanying the casualty when he had gone to assist their dog, had been concerned that the casualty would not be able to get back out of the gully. Luckily the man and his dog had managed to find a route back onto rocks and was then able to re-join the coast path a little further along the point.
