One of the occupants of the Kayaks was reported to be in the water. The Portscatho Coastguard Rescue Team was also tasked to assist.

Both Kayakers had managed to make the safety of Portloe and once the Portscatho Coastguard Team had confirmed that no further assistance was required the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station at 14:55.
