Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched ay 17:06 to check on a yacht which had been reported drifting through the moorings off the Packet Quays in Falmouth Inner Harbour. There were concerns for the welling of anyone who might be on the yacht. The harbour authority had also been alerted.
The yacht was located aground near the Packet Quays and it was confirmed that no one had been on board the yacht when it had broken free from its mooring. The owners arrived on scene soon afterwards and the Inshore Lifeboat assisted in towing the yacht clear from the shore before they started the engine and headed up to the Falmouth Marina, the Inshore Lifeboat being released at 17:22 to return to its station.
