At 16:24 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of a 5.5 metre Rigid Inflatable with three people on board, which had broken down off the entrance to the Helford Estuary.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from its slipway at 16:31 and, having rounded Pendennis Point, headed across the bay arriving on scene at 16:45. A tow line was passed to the vessel, and it was towed back to Mylor Harbour where it was safely secured at 17:41, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.
At 17:50 as the Inshore Lifeboat was passing Trefusis Point it witnessed a yacht in danger of colliding with other moored vessels so was tasked to assist.
