At 17:50 the Inshore Lifeboat was returning from a previous service. As it was passing Trefusis Point, it witnessed a yacht in danger of colliding with other moored vessels in the Trefusis anchorage. The Inshore Lifeboat advised Falmouth Coastguard and went to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 17:51 and, having checked that no damage had been caused, the Inshore Lifeboat took the yacht in tow, placing it on its mooring in Flushing at 18:00. The Inshore Lifeboat was released and returned to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered on to the slipway at 18:06 where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 18:25.

The yacht had been having difficulties with its sails and the skipper’s attempts to tow it with a tender had failed.
