Medical evacuation from yacht

Inshore lifeboat: (Launched 12:09 / Returned 13:12) – Neil Capper (Helmsman), Tamara Brookes, Jemima Henstridge-Blows


At 11:56 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the medical evacuation of a person with a head injury on board a yacht moored in the Penryn River. Police and Ambulance units were also on scene.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from its slipway at 12:09 and headed out up the Inner Harbour into the Penryn River. The lifeboat arrived on scene at 12:25 and transferred two paramedics to the yacht. Once the casualty had been assessed the casualty and paramedics were transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat and landed at the Penryn Quay pontoons. The Inshore Lifeboat was  released at 12:56 to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered on to its slipway at 13:12 where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 13:45.
