Yacht Jin Six with rudder failure

At 15:49 Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was returning from a previous tasking when Falmouth Coastguard requested they proceed to assist the 9m Yacht Jin Six with two persons on board which had issued a Mayday call after its rudder had failed and its skipper was concerned it would drift onto the rocks.
The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 15:51 and took the yacht in tow. It was taken to the Port Pendennis Marina where it was safely secured at 16:41, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 16:53 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 17:10.
The yacht had being sailing in the Carrick Roads when its rudder had failed. Luckily the Inshore Lifeboat was less than a mile away at the time so arrived on scene with in a couple of minutes to assist.
