Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 15:38 following reports of a person stuck in the mud at Gorrangorras Creek in Penryn River. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team with their specialist mud rescue equipment were also tasked, along with the fire brigades water rescue unit and an ambulance.
Due to the state of the tide the Inshore Lifeboat was unable to reach the scene but was asked to standby off Ponsharden in case their assistance was required as the tide turned. The Coastguard Team had used their specialist equipment to extract the casualty who had been trapped up to their waist, who was then checked over by the ambulance paramedics. At 16:37 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station where it was safely moored on its temporary pontoon berth at 16:50.
