Inshore lifeboat (Launched 12:38 / Returned 13:14) – Elliot Holman (Helmsman), Tom Bird, Adam West

At 12:34 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth inshore lifeboat be launched following a 999 call from two people cut off by the tide on the North Bank of the Helford River.

The Inshore lifeboat launched from her slipway at 12:38 and having rounded Pendennis Point headed across Falmouth Bay arriving at the Helford at 12:50. The two people were located on the rocks between Grebe Beach and Porth Saxon and having been recovered to the inshore lifeboat were taken back to Porth Saxon where they were landed safely at 12:55, the Inshore Lifeboat then being released to return to its station.

The inshore lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 13:14, being refuelled and ready for service by 13:25.

The casualties had been exploring the coastline when they had become cut off by the tide and had been unable to climb the steeps rock to the field above. They had wisely requested assistance and were very thankful for the assistance they were given.
