Inshore lifeboat (Launched 08:12 / Returned 09:30) – Jonathan Hackwell (Helmsman), Josh Beardmore, Jamie Wakefield

At 08:05 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the medical evacuation of a person from a yacht moored on the pontoon island at Tregothnan Boathouse in the Truro River.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 08:12 and arrived on scene at the pontoon at 08:25. Lifeboat crew members trained in casualty care went on board the yacht and assessed the casualty before transferring him to the Inshore Lifeboat at 08:50 for the short trip up river to Malpas where an ambulance was waiting. The casualty was handed over to the paramedics at 09:00 and the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 09:30 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 09:45.

The casualty who lives on board the yacht during the summer months had contacted the coastguard to request assistance when they had become unwell.
