At 15:48 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of a collision between two boats with one person in the water near the Narrows in the Carrick Roads.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from its slipway at 15:54 and headed out the harbour arriving on scene at 16:03. The casualty who had been in the water had already been recovered by one of the boats and was then transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat to be assessed. Once it was confirmed that the casualty did not need any medical attention and that both boats were not holed the Inshore Lifeboat took the smaller boat in tow and escorted the larger boat into Port Pendennis Marina where both boats were safely secured at 16:41, the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered on to its slipway at 16:45 where it was refuelled and made ready for service by 17:05.

The larger boat had been heading up the Carrick Roads when it had collided with the small boat, its occupant jumping in the water to avoid injury. Thankfully the casualty was wearing a lifejacket and was quickly recovered from the water by the other boat. The Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team met the two boats on their arrival.
