At 13:45 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the 14m (80 GRT) Fishing Boat Manx Ranger which had a rope around its propeller 5 miles Southeast of Zone Point.

The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 13:52 and having rounded Zone Point headed out to the Fishing Boat arriving on scene at 14:25. A tow line was passed to the vessel and at 14:30 the tow back to Falmouth commenced. The vessel was taken into the Inner Harbour where it was safely moored alongside the Port Pendennis Marina at 16:10. The All Weather Lifeboat was then released to return to its station.

The All Weather Lifeboat arrived back alongside its pontoon berth at 16:20 where it was refuelled and ready for service by 16:40.

The Fowey registered scalloper had been fishing off Falmouth when it had fouled its propeller. Once back in the port the crew awaited divers to try and clear the obstruction.
