At 04:55 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth all-weather lifeboat be launched to assist the 37ft yacht Andrillot II with two persons on board which was experiencing difficulties 2.5 miles South East of Zone Point.

The all-weather lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 05:05 and having rounded Zone Point headed out to the yachts position, arriving on scene at 05:27. Once the yacht had furled its sails a tow line was passed to the yacht and at 05:38 the tow into Falmouth commenced. By 06:27 the lifeboat and yacht had reached the more sheltered waters off the docks so the yacht was strapped alongside the lifeboat and was then taken to a berth at the Port Pendennis Marina where it was safely secured at 06:48, the lifeboat being released to return to its station.

The all-weather lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 06:57 where the lifeboat was refuelled and was ready for service by 07:15.

The yacht had been on passage from Lymington to Falmouth but had lost the use of both its engine and auto pilot leaving the crew on board exhausted in the prevailing weather conditions so they had sensibly requested assistance to get into Falmouth.
